Concreters Gold Coast
Driveways, paths, slabs and decorative concrete, planned with the levels, walls and drainage around them and built by the team that designs the rest of the project.

Bella Terra Group is a concreting and landscape construction company based in Nerang, working across the Gold Coast. We build concrete driveways, paths, slabs, steps and footings, in finishes from plain broom to exposed aggregate, stamped and coloured concrete. Quotes are free and measured on site.
Concrete is often quoted on its own. With us it’s usually one stage of a landscape design for the whole space, so the driveway, paths and slabs share their levels and falls with the walls and gardens around them. Recent work includes curved terrazzo steps and a walled courtyard in Burleigh Heads.
That matters most on a sloping block, where a slab can’t go in until the dig and the retaining walls are finished and the water has somewhere to drain. Planned together, the concrete goes down on settled, well-drained ground. Our owner, Dion McGirr, oversees each stage, from the set-out to handover.

The two halves
What Makes Concrete Last?
Concrete lasts when the ground beneath it is prepared properly and the surface suits how it’s used. The base, meaning the excavation, compaction and reinforcement, keeps it from settling and limits cracking. The finish decides how it looks and grips.
A decorative finish on a poor base soon cracks, and a sound slab with the wrong surface is slippery when wet. We set both in the design, before any concrete is ordered.
The work
Our Concreting Services
Our own team carries out the work below under our QBCC builder’s licence.
Driveways, slabs and footings
Driveways, slabs and footings carry weight every day, so the base, reinforcement and thickness have to suit the load. Under-built concrete cracks and settles at the edges.
Here's what our structural concreting covers.
- Concrete driveways, new or replacing an old one
- Slabs for entertaining areas and outdoor kitchens
- Footings for retaining walls and garden walls
- Removing and replacing old or cracked slabs
- Excavation, compaction and reinforcement under every pour
- Falls and drainage that carry water away from the house
Paths, steps and decorative finishes
Paths, steps and pool surrounds are the concrete you see and walk on most. We choose the finish for its grip when wet and its colour beside the house.
Here's what our decorative concreting covers.
- Pathway concreting between the house, garden and driveway
- Concrete steps between levels and at entries
- Exposed aggregate for driveways, paths and pool surrounds
- Stamped concrete patterned like stone, brick or tile
- Plain broom, coloured, honed and polished finishes
Every concrete project starts with a site visit. We check the levels, soil and truck access, measure the area and talk through the finishes and what each costs.
The process
Our Process
Each project runs in three stages, starting with what the concrete has to carry.

- Consultation and site assessment. We check the levels, soil, drainage and truck access.
- An itemised quote. The base, the concrete and the finish are priced separately, so you can compare finishes fairly.
- The work itself. Our team builds it in the order below, and Dion hands it back finished.
In What Order Is Concrete Laid?
Concrete goes in after the dig, walls and drainage, and before the paving. It’s hard to undo, so a slab poured before the drainage has to be cut out again.
- Design and set-out. Levels, falls, finish and joint lines are set in the design and marked out on site.
- Excavation and walls. The dig and any retaining walls come first, while machinery can still get in.
- Drainage and conduit. Stormwater pipes and lighting conduit go under the slab before the base.
- Base, formwork and steel. The compacted base, the formwork that holds its shape and the steel mesh are checked before the pour.
- The pour and the finish. The concrete is placed and finished, and control joints, the grooves that tell concrete where to crack, are cut.
- Paving and planting, last. Paving, planting and turf go in once the slab has cured.
Why Bella Terra Group
Choosing Bella Terra Group for Your Concreting
Our owner, Dion McGirr, has been in the trade for over 14 years. Our concrete work runs from single driveways to whole backyards, often beside our paving.
Each project is built under QBCC licence 15452813, with Dion on site. One client’s renovation “included removing parts of a concrete slab, laying new concrete slabs, extensive sealed paving”. Another wrote, “If you want reliable, honest, HARD working and superior results, Bella Terra is the ultimate.” A third wrote, “thank you for fixing our driveway!!”

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a concrete driveway cost on the Gold Coast?
The cost of a concrete driveway depends on its size and thickness, the finish, the base the ground needs, whether an old driveway has to come out, and truck access. Because those change from one property to the next, a set rate would mislead you, so we measure on site and give you an itemised quote at no charge.
What's the difference between exposed aggregate and stamped concrete?
Exposed aggregate has its top layer washed back to show the stones mixed through it, which gives a textured surface that grips well underfoot. Stamped concrete is pressed with a pattern while it's wet, so it looks like stone, brick or tile. We talk through both on site, including how each one wears.
How do I choose a concreter on the Gold Coast?
Ask how the base will be prepared, how thick the concrete will be and where the control joints will go, and check the company's licence on the QBCC register. Look at work it has finished, and ask who manages the project day to day.
Can you pour a slab or driveway on a sloping block?
Yes. On a sloping block the excavation and retaining walls come first, then the slab or driveway is poured to the new levels, with drainage to carry water around it. We design and build all of it, so the walls and the concrete suit each other.
Do I need council approval for a new driveway on the Gold Coast?
You need City of Gold Coast approval for the vehicular crossing, the part of the driveway between your property boundary and the road, because it's on public land. The concrete can't be poured until the crossing passes the City's pre-pour inspection. We allow for the crossing in the design and the timeline from the start.
